Chris Garzon (Garzi)

Please tell me a bit about yourself and your current touring band:
My name is Chris Garzon, I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I'm 25 years old and have been making music for the last 5 years. I grew up listening to/falling in love with alternative rock music, so naturally that's the kind of music I enjoy making. I started touring last year and have been on two national runs so far and it's my favorite thing about being an artist.
Please walk me through a typical day on tour:
The typical day on tour changes based on the kind of tour it is, or who it's with. However, for me it usually starts somewhere along the lines of waking up early outside of planet fitness. I work out and shower there, get some food, and then get back to the bus to head to the venue. We get to the venue around noon to set up and then we're free to do whatever until showtime. I play the show and then I'll party until I go to bed somewhere around 2-4am just to wake up early and do it all over again. The tour consists of a lot of movies, games, junk food and finding any escape from boredom when you're not on stage.
Are there any larger mental burdens knowing you're so far away from home?
It definitely takes a toll but you power through because you love it and wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
How often are you in contact with friends/family while on tour?
I stay in contact with my friends and family pretty often on tour. I like to let my mother know where I am so she doesn't worry too much (yes, she still worries). As I said earlier, a tour consists of trying to find escapes from boredom, so I'll call friends to talk and kill time if I have to.
