Labor Leaders, Elected Officials Honor Connecticut Workers Lost or Injured on the Job
In 2023, 33 workers in Connecticut died from job-related injuries, and 31,000 more were injured or became ill due to hazardous working conditions. Nationally, 5,283 workers were killed on the job and an estimated 135,000 more died from occupational diseases, according to the AFL-CIO’s annual “Death on the Job” report.
