Audit Uncovers Gaps In Overtime Oversight, Internal Controls At DESPP
HARTFORD, CT – An audit released last week by the State Auditors of Public Accounts revealed significant issues with overtime oversight, outdated policies, and inadequate internal controls within the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) during the 2022 and 2023 fiscal years.

The audit, conducted by State Auditors John C. Geragosian and Craig A. Miner, found that DESPP has not updated its time and attendance policies since 2006 and 2012, despite a major transition to the Kronos scheduling system in 2020.

Connecticut Holds 43rd Annual Holocaust Commemoration at Capitol
HARTFORD, CT — The future was on display in the Senate Chamber at the State Capitol Friday, as the Jewish Federation of Connecticut hosted the 43rd annual State Holocaust Commemoration.
“To the young generations in the gallery above, present in the chambers, you are our future,” said Dr. Stephen Liebowitz, the commemoration chair. “You may not yet fully grasp the responsibility that rests on your shoulders, but it is yours nonetheless. It is yours to stand up, to speak up, and to confront antisemitism wherever it arises.”
